PRINTSNIP TOOL
Compress a photo to under 50 KB
Many application and exam forms only accept photos under 50 KB. PrintSnip shrinks the file to fit while keeping the photo as sharp as possible, and shows the final size so you know it will be accepted.

How to use it
- Open the tool and choose your photo from the gallery, files or camera.
- Choose “Under 50 KB”. If the form also asks for pixel dimensions (for example 200 × 230), enter them too.
- Press Make photo. PrintSnip tries different quality levels and keeps the best one under the limit.
- Check the size shown (for example “47 KB”), then Download or Share the new copy. Your original stays unchanged.
Good to know
- Very large or detailed photos may need smaller dimensions to reach 50 KB without visible blocks.
- Forms sometimes ask for both a KB limit and a minimum size; check both before you upload.
- Photo and PDF edits run on your device. Only the PDF password and signing tools send the file to the server, where it is processed and deleted straight away.
Privacy and saving
Photo and document edits are processed on your device. Account information is stored on the server. Adding or removing PDF passwords and signing PDFs use temporary server processing, and files are deleted immediately. Print-shop orders use temporary encrypted storage. Read the Privacy Notice before sharing sensitive files.
Frequently asked questions
Will my photo lose quality?
A smaller file always keeps less detail. PrintSnip picks the highest quality that still fits under 50 KB, so the result looks as good as possible.
Can I choose a different limit?
Yes. Use 20 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB or type your own limit in Make My File Fit.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It runs in the browser on Android, iPhone and computers. No app download is needed.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Compressing happens on your device.
